Pudukkottai is a historical Place, a princely state of the Thondamans. It was the first ever domain to merge voluntarily with the Indian Union after Independence. When Pudukkottai District was formed in 1974, Pudukkottai Town became the district headquarters. The town began to progress steadily in various fields.

In Pudukkottai District 73% of girls were school drop outs.Only 10% out 23% of students got admission in Government Women College before 2005.
Due to their economical condition 90% of students cannot able to access transporatation.
Sri Bharathi increased the ratio of women education and decreased the school drop outs since 2005.
Between 2005 and 2023, 43% of girls from Pudukkottai district get education by providing quality education and by connecting village in 3600 through our vehicle facilities. And particularly most of them first generation learners .
